New ‘Kitchen designers are turning our attention to food industry,’ says Lola Farkas, who co-founded a restaurant design company with her husband, Peter, after working in a design school.
Farkas says that there are a lot of food industry professionals who are struggling to get a job, and that food is an important part of their life, and they want to change that.
She says she sees a lot more chefs and restaurateurs who are looking to do a job in the food service industry.
“There are a ton of new people coming into the food business.
A lot of them are young people who don’t have a lot experience, but they have great ideas and they’re excited about it.
They want to create a better restaurant and they don’t want to do the same job as the old people, so they’re trying to take on the challenge,” she said.
She adds that many of the designers she works with have already started to go into the kitchen, and she believes that it will be a lot easier for them to make a living in the industry if they are willing to learn.
The new ‘kitchens’ will be at the corner of Humboldt and Market streets in Berkeley.
They will be open daily, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the kitchen will be the hub of the project.
The first of two new restaurants is set to open this summer, and the other one will open in the fall.
The Farka’s are looking for volunteers to help them in the kitchen.
They also want to hear from people who would like to take part in the program.
Farkawas says they want the food to be delicious, but also fun and educational.
They are seeking people who have experience in design, and if you’re interested in helping, you can email the project manager at [email protected] or call 510-921-9271.
